Ayrshire village has announced its intention to wind down its long-standing campaign to secure the future of a popular community building.But the Save the CEVIC Campaign group has issued a stinging parting shot to East Ayrshire Council (EAC) and the Catrine Community Trust (CCT) over what they claim is visitor attraction that has “nothing to show for it” – despite £4 million of public money going into it.Ayrshire Live told in December how the Save the CEVIC Campaign group won its battle with East Ayrshire Council.At the time, the local authority made an astonishing U-turn in their plan to turn the CEVIC building into a nursery.The decision, made at a cabinet meeting, was described by campaigners as “the logical, sensible and right.
