Council bosses have cancelled a 10 per cent funeral price hike to ease the burden on grieving families during the coronavirus pandemic.East Ayrshire Council approved the rise to charges during the budget last month.Now top councillors have decided not to go ahead with the cost increases during this financial year.Council leader Douglas Reid (SNP) said: “People are having a hard enough time without that.“We are trying to take the strain from people who are suffering.
