Police were called out to reports of a Skoda Fabia being stolen on Brook Street, Farnworth, at around 7.30pm on Tuesday (September 7).
Greater Manchester Police says that the owner of the car, a man in his 20s, was assaulted with hammers and knives and had his wallet stolen.
