A Scots dog owner fears her beloved pooches have been snatched from her 'fenced in' back garden as she makes a desperate plea in a bid to bring them home.

Police are searching for Archie and Angus who 'vanished' from Kilbirnie, North Ayrshire on Saturday, February 12. The Scottish Terriers were last seen in their owner's back garden before going out of sight within minutes.

Their distraught owner, Elaine Graham, 55, 'just wants them back home' and says their disappearance is 'a total mystery'. The company secretary told the Record: "I let both of the dogs out into the garden, as per usual, at around 8.30am.

That was the last time I saw Angus."Archie came running back up the garden but ran away again, the last time I saw him was 8.40am."Our garden faces fields but it's totally fenced in, sometimes they manage to get into the neighbour's garden."Archie is three and Angus is six, we've had them since they were puppies and they've never disappeared like this before."I just want them home."Frantic Elaine checked neighbouring gardens before getting in her car and searching the local area.Farmers hunted for the pooches while one local scoured the area by quad bike. One resident's CCTV showed no sign of the dogs and those out walking 'didn't even hear barking'."It's a total mystery which makes me think they could have been stolen," Elaine said."They're friendly dogs who would go with anyone."If anyone has any idea of where they are, please come forward."A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed on Sunday evening that a report had been made to officers.
