It has attracted the attention of Real Madrid - who he initially left the Red Devils for in 2009 - but for now the legendary forward has been tight-lipped on his future.
Ferguson brought the Portuguese star to England almost 20 years ago in 2003 and is keen for him to remain at Old Trafford, according to The Mirror.Doing so would protect Ronaldo's legacy in red according to the Scotsman.
Both have spoken of how their club's season has 'imploded' under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Ragnick as Europa League or Europa Conference League football beckons.
