Amid the spread of Covid-19, many South Africans are in panic mode. With panic, comes mass amounts of confusion. The forwarding of false WhatsApp voice clips, the circulation of false e-mails and the spreading of inaccurate information can muddy waters, making it hard separating fact from fiction.

We take a look at the biggest myths doing their rounds and compare them to facts we have at hand: Myth: SA’s climate is too hot and humid for Covid-19 to survive, and with the recent heavy rain we’ll be able to knock this virus out the park. Fact: The COVID-19 virus can be transmitted in all areas, including areas with hot and humid weather, and those without.
