Coffee4Craig has been handed the Queens Award for Voluntary Service. The Manchester city centre-based charity was first set up by Risha and Hendrix Lancaster in 2013 and now has more than 60 volunteers.

It was the sudden death of Risha’s brother Craig, while he was homeless in Cardiff back in 2013, that prompted the couple to act.

They started handing out hot drinks to the homeless in Manchester, telling each person “this is from Craig”. The scheme quickly developed into a hugely popular street kitchen which ran three nights a week
