A Bury man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in Lancashire. Christopher Foster, 37, is due to appear at Preston Magistrates' Court today (Wednesday).

He is accused of attempted murder; dangerous driving; and possession of a bladed article. Police said Mr Foster, of Holt Street West, was charged in relation to an incident on Snowdown Avenue in Blackburn on Tuesday (May 5).

A 34-year-old man was involved in a collision with a van before suffering knife wounds. He remains in hospital in a serious condition.
