Britain's official cheapest supermarket for the 'weekly big shop' - and Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury's miss out

Britain's cheapest weekly supermarket has been revealed. And it is ASDA that has beaten Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Ocado to the top spot.

According to new figures from consumer champions Which?, ASDA came out on top for the price of a shopping trolley filled with 79 items, costing £146.36 in September.

This includes branded items such as Andrex toilet paper, Colgate toothpaste, Tropicana orange juice and McVitie’s digestive biscuits with own-label products, including mixed peppers and semi-skimmed milk.
