Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Rangers fell apart because the club thought the midfielder was overweight - according to a report in France. The Ibrox side have been frequently linked with a £2.5m move for the Amiens star but it appears to have disappeared from the radar.

And it's been claimed that Rangers cooled their interest because they believed the 27-year-old was out of condition and overweight.Zungu has been frozen out by the Ligue 2 side for pre-season games after Amiens manager Luka Elsner announced he would only consider players who see their future at the club.He said: "We need only players who are 100 per cent committed to the club and the players who are trying to leave won't be involved."I want players who give everything in training and pre-season.
