Anders Lindegaard's performance against Cristiano Ronaldo for Denmark in 2010 persuaded Manchester United to sign him. Lindegaard spent five years at United in total and won the Premier League twice under Sir Alex Ferguson across that spell.
After arriving in Manchester for £3.5m in November 2010, the Danish stopper fought to be United's No.1 goalkeeper ahead of David de Gea, however, after seemingly becoming Ferguson's first choice in early 2012, he sustained a serious ankle injury in training.
Lindegaard's United career stuttered from that moment on and he left the club in 2015 having made just 29 first-team appearances.
