Almost 380 pupils were excluded from schools in West Dunbartonshire last year.Figures released from the Scottish Government reveal a total of 379 pupils from primaries, secondaries and special schools across the area were excluded during 2018/19.In primaries across the local authority, 95 pupils were excluded, with 276 from the area’s five secondary schools.There were eight youngsters at special schools excluded.The figure is lower than the previous year when a total of 551 students were permanently removed from their schools.At a rate of 52.9 exclusions per 1,000 secondary pupils, West Dunbartonshire ranks higher than the Scottish average of 24.7.Aberdeen City has the highest figure at a rate of almost one in 10 secondary pupils.Reasons
