For years Stalybridge was regarded as the borough's party town as revellers flocked to the many pubs, bars and clubs of 'Staly Vegas'.
That scene was already on the decline well before the pandemic hit - and as residents told the Manchester Evening News in April , there is little appetite for its return.
Now Stalybridge is at the centre of £2.5 million regeneration plans, and a number of new announcements mean the town is shaping up for livelier times ahead.
