Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Alfie Doughty transfer latest as Celtic urge Charlton to name their price for wideman

Celtic’s head of football operations Nick Hammond watched the 20-year-old, who was a regular in the Championship last season, in their 3-1 win over Swindon Town on Saturday.

Doughty is going into the final 10 months of his contract and could move cross-border for a knockdown price come the summerCeltic would prefer to do a deal just now but they are waiting for a bit of clarity from the Charlton end.

Luton Town are also interested but the chance to move to Scotland would be a lot more appealing. Doughty is seen as one for the future while Neil Lennon’s first-team priority remains another left-back.

Celtic have already asked about loaning PSG’s young Dutchman Bakker for the season but they will need to up the ante financially.
