The 39-year-old, from Huddersfield, was killed in the crash just past Junction 22, between Rochdale and Huddersfield, at around 2.30pm on Tuesday.

Police say inquiries suggest the crash happened after a Ford Fiesta hit the barriers and rebounded on to the carriageway, which caused following vehicles to slam on the brakes.

At least four lorries are thought to have been involved in the smash. Four people were injured and received treatment. A 37-year old male remains in hospital with serious injuries.
