An outraged woman has complained after money was automatically taken from her bank account without her knowing after being told that she would receive a £10,000 Covid-19 fine in 2021.
Sunny-Jo Veasey, 28, is set to have £320 extracted from her account every month after a court hearing was held in her absence and they set the charge at £2,026.
Sunny-Jo, from Sheffield, was initially issued with the hefty fine while living in a shared property with seven other people, Yorkshire Live writes. She has complained about the "crippling" fine amid the cost of the living crisis and insists that she did not organise a "rave type gathering of more than 30 persons" as had been stated on the charge sheet.
She has also protested about her situation in comparison to that of Boris Johnson and the UK Government, who are still awaiting to hear what their punishment will be after the details of their illegal lockdown gatherings were passed on to the Metropolitan Police force.
