The woman killed in a double stabbing in Wigan was a 'caring and lovely' mum-of-one, her devastated friends and family have said this evening.
Melissa Belshaw, 32, suffered 'catastrophic' injuries in an attack at her home on Upholland Road, Billinge, on Wednesday afternoon (May 20).
A man in his 40s is in a serious condition in hospital having also been knifed. He is believed to be a heroic neighbour who intervened during the attack.
A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. Ms Belshaw's stepmother, Lisa Belshaw, paid tribute to the mum-of-one.
