beauty spot. A major rescue operation was launched as emergency services raced to the scene in Arbroath at around 8.30pm on Thursday evening.

The walker, whose age is unknown, slipped off the coastal path and sustained a leg injury. Specialist rope access technicians were brought in to reach the stricken woman before being treated by paramedics.

She was safely winched into a waiting Coastguard search and rescue helicopter before being flown to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment.
