Scott McTominay says he had no intention of leaving Manchester United on loan shortly before he cemented his place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.
Celtic and West Bromwich Albion were interested in taking McTominay, 23, on loan in the January transfer window last year after he played one minute in Solskjaer's first seven Premier League games in charge.
United surprisingly announced McTominay had signed a new contract towards the end of the winter window and United soon sold fellow midfielder Marouane Fellaini to Shandong Luneng.
McTominay did not start a league match under Solskjaer until Nemanja Matic succumbed to injury on the eve of the goalless draw with Liverpool in late February.
