temporary Nightingale court at Salford's Lowry Theatre on Tuesday (November 24). Today (Wednesday), giving evidence at court, consultant forensic psychiatrist Dr Inti Qurashi said Bennett-Eko's mind was “disturbed” at the time of the killing.
The court heard how all three psychiatrists who assessed him agreed on that factor. However, Dr Qurashi, who teaches at the University of Manchester, did not believe his psychosis was “so severe it prevented him from not knowing what he was doing”.Dr Qurashi said the defendant admitted he had hesitated before throwing his son into the river during a consultation, the court heard.
