Warner Bros. Pictures will not be releasing The Batman in Russia at this time. The decision comes just days before the film was set to debut in theaters worldwide. Click inside to read the official statement… “In light of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, WarnerMedia is pausing the release of its feature film The Batman in Russia,” a WarnerMedia spokesperson said in a statement via The Hollywood Reporter.
They added, “We will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves. We hope for a swift and peaceful resolution to this tragedy.” The decision also follows Walt Disney Studios, who have also decided to not release their films in the country over the recent attacks on Ukraine.
The Batman was set to premiere on March 3 in Russia. It will open Friday in the US. Star Robert Pattinson just attended a screening of the movie in Miami.
