TWO chickens were dumped in Glenmavis - with one of the stricken birds subsequently passing away. The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information relating to the animals' sickening fate after a member of the public phoned the charity's helpline last week.
The organisation's inspector Dawn Robertson said: "The hens were dumped in a carrier on a property in the area of Glenmavis. "Upon inspection, they were found to be underweight. "Unfortunately, one of the chickens has since passed away due to undetermined health issues. "We are hoping that someone recognises the carrier they were left in. "If anyone has any information, please contact our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999."
