More than 2,000 coronavirus deaths could have been prevented if Scotland went into lockdown two weeks earlier, scientists claim.Epidemiologists from the University of Edinburgh claim the death rate in Scotland could have been reduced by 80 per cent with earlier action.The early intervention could have meant less than 600 deaths instead of the 2795 reported by NRS last week.BBC Scotland’s Disclosure programme also reveals there was a secret outbreak of the virus in Edinburgh back in February, well before the first recorded cases in Scotland, but this was not disclosed to the public.Despite knowing the virus had been in Scotland since at least late February, Scotland did not ban mass gatherings till March 16, or lockdown until March 25.Scotla
