Two schools evacuated after bomb threats - one has now been targeted two days in a row

Wigan were evacuated today after bomb threats were made. Golborne High School in Golborne and Bedford High School in Leigh both received 'malicious hoax threats' over the phone on Tuesday afternoon.

It is the second time in two days Golborne High has had to be evacuated after a similar hoax call was made to the school yesterday (Monday).

Police are now investigating the incidents after searching both schools and declaring the calls as a hoax.Bedford High sent a text to parents about the hoax call at around 1.15pm today.

The message, which has been seen by the Manchester Evening News , said: "Today we received a hoax bomb threat call. "Under advice from police the whole school was evacuated and a search undertaken.
