Will Thorne Staff WriterSunday night saw the gigantic new SoFi Stadium in Inglewood christened with a “Sunday Night Football” kick off between the Los Angeles Rams and the Dallas Cowboys.While the game itself ended with a narrow victory for the Rams, the numbers for the game were hardly a victory for NBC.
According to early Nielsen numbers, around 15 million viewers tuned in on Sunday night, and the game scored a 4.7 rating in the key adults 18-49 demographic.That viewership figure represents roughly a 23% drop from the early numbers put up by last year’s “Sunday Night Football” opener between the New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
