A woman has been rescued after being trapped in her car when it was crushed by a huge falling tree during Storm Malik. Emergency services were called to the incident in Dunham Road, Altrincham, at about 11.55am today (January 29).

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Dramatic images captured the damage to the woman's black Peugeot.
Eyewitnesses said the road was closed for several hours while emergency services responded to the incident. Greater Manchester has been battered by strong winds during Storm Malik today.
