Loch Tay reopened yesterday, offering guided tours of its on-shore living history village. A week ago the loghouse burned down and support for the community of guides and archaeologists came from all over the UK in response.
The fire on Friday, June 11 did not affect the collection of wooden shelters housing tools and demonstration areas at the site in Kenmore which are going to continue to be available for visitors.
There is much to learn about how Iron Age residents of Loch Tay grew crops and harvested their food from the loch shore.Metal making, leather work, wood turning and textile production were all part of daily life and tour guides can explain it to modern day visitors.The tours will be led hourly and the price per person has been.
