Thousands of Scots suffering 'Long Covid' with no plans for clinics to offer treatment

Long Covid patients.Thousands of Scots are suffering what’s been described as the “slow motion car crash” of Long Covid, with no prospect of treatment.None of the 14 health boards in Scotland are offering dedicated Long Covid clinics despite calls for Scotland to follow NHS England’s £10m pledge for specialist facilities.An investigation by BBC Scotland has revealed the plight of those suffering Long Covid.The broadcaster reports how estimates suggest as many as 6,000 people in Scotland could develop the condition – though experts are wary of the lack of data available.

They say it is too early to accurately track the condition but acknowledge it is a significant problem.The condition has now been defined by doctors as Post-Covid Syndrome.
