THE Voice Kids viewers have been left in tears after a blind teen wowed the coaches with an incredible performance. The ITV singing competition kicked off a new series tonight, and saw 13-year-old Lydia take to the stage.

Lydia has been blind since she was a baby, with her mother telling the camera she has always encouraged her daughter to be fearless.

She said: "We were told that there were two ways of dealing with it, you wrap her in cotton wool, or you prepare her to do anything." Speaking ahead of her performance, Lydia revealed: "I was born with a genetic condition affecting my eyes which means that I am blind.
