Teyana Taylor has released a new video for “Still,” a highlight from her recently-released K.T.S.E. follow-up The Album. As Pitchfork points out, the clip features Taylor invoking the images of multiple Black civil rights leaders and victims of police brutality, including Malcolm X, Huey P.
Newton, George Floyd, and Breonna Taylor. In addition, the clip utilizes archival footage of protests and police brutality, including of the murder of George Floyd.
The clip is introduced as “A Spike Tey Joint,” a homage to “A Spike Lee Joint,” the credit Spike Lee receives at the beginning of his films.
