A police cordon is in place in the Swinton area and enquiries are continuing, Greater Manchester Police said. There's been no confirmation of any arrests.
The victim - aged 19 - was rushed to hospital, where police described his injuries in a statement as 'serious'. No further details have been revealed.
GMP confirmed officers were called to Sefton Road in Swinton at 8.45pm to a report of a stabbing. Police attended and found the 19-year-old had been attacked, the force said.
