SUPERGIRL actress Melissa Benoist has shared an emotional message following the news that the show has been cancelled. The female caped superhero will be no more after the sixth - and final - season airs.
Benoist said it had been "an honor portraying this iconic character" after The CW announced the news on Tuesday. Taking to her Instagram page, the 31-year-old star, who first took on the role in 2015, wrote her heartfelt words as a caption to a laughing picture of her on the Supergirl set.
She said: "To say it has been an honor portraying this iconic character would be a massive understatement. "Seeing the incredible impact the show has had on young girls around the world has always left me humbled and speechless." View this post on.
