THE NHS is the greatest institution in the WORLD, never mind our country. In the past there has been talk about privatising it.

But what we have is a gift. We should nurture it, love it, honour it and show our gratitude for it. We must not take it for granted, as the coronavirus crisis has proved beyond all doubt.

I knew how special the NHS is long before the pandemic. My mother and myself have had serious health problems that were diagnosed and handled brilliantly by NHS staff.

And I was proud to attend The Sun’s Who Cares Wins Awards last year, when so many inspiring people shared stories of their amazing work.
