Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Scottish Government last night revealed officers from Police Scotland urged the club to put out a stay at home message as the celebrations ramped up with the Gers on the brink of winning the league.

Cops said assurances were given by officials at Rangers but they did not materialise, according to the memo. Ahead of the Scottish Premiership fixture, on March 6, police were told by the club "no such activities would happen" with regard to encouraging fans to celebrate.
