Naman Ramachandran Edinburgh Comedy Award-winning comedian, writer and actor Rose Matafeo’s romcom “Starstruck” has been greenlit for a second six-part series by HBO Max and the U.K.’s BBC Three.Co-written by Matafeo, Alice Snedden and Nic Sampson, and produced by Avalon, the second season will continue the story of Jessie (Matafeo), a millennial living in East London juggling two dead end jobs and navigating the complications of becoming romantically involved with famous film star Tom, played by Nikesh Patel (Channel 4’s “Indian Summers”).
Minnie Driver (“Modern Love”) will reprise her role as Tom’s agent Cath, while Russell Tovey (“Years and Years”) joins the cast.The first season premieres on HBO Max on Thursday.
