Now 60, Stanley lost his first wife Kathryn, 47, in 2009 after she became ill with breast cancer. The Oscar-nominated actor told CBS Sunday Morning that despite more than a decade since her passing, he misses his first wife and the mother of three of his children. ‘It’s still hard after 11 years.
It’s still hard. And it will always be hard. But you can’t let it…’ he said. Stanley added that Kate, whom he was married to for 14 years, would not begrudge him moving on. ‘She would never want any of us to ever wallow in that grief and let it take over our lives.
