A mum has described the heartwrenching moment she found her teenage son had been stabbed in the street and was bleeding heavily.
She said the boy touched her face and told her: "I love you mam, but I'm going to die". The teenager, aged 14, had been beaten up and stabbed in the chest after being set upon by a gang of youths, Wales Online reports. The person who wielded the blade was also aged just 14, and has been handed a community-based Youth Referral Order after pleading guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm. The mum of the victim has described the sentence handed down as "disgusting", and said that she wants to see anyone who carries a knife being locked up regardless of their age.
The victim was stabbed in the chest in the early evening of February 10 this year as he sat with friends at Gorseinon bus station.
Swansea Crown Court heard the background to the assault was a fight the previous day between friends of the victim and friends of the teenager with the knife, a fight the victim had nothing to do with.
