PAISLEY DAILY EXPRESS: Live news as it happensOther figures included in the papers showed accidental dwelling fires went up by 26 per cent during the three-month spell with 48 recorded compared to 38 the previous year.Almost a quarter of the incidents occurred in the Johnstone North, Kilbarchan, Lochwinnoch and Howwood ward while a third happened across the two Renfrew wards, with cooking being the most common source of fires.Meanwhile, non-fire casualties went up by two-thirds from 15 during April to June 2020 to 24 in the same period this year.
The figure included two deaths and three incidents that involved serious injuries.Fifteen of the casualties occurred as a result of road crashes, while nine were recorded as part of the fire.
