Loose Women presenter Sophie Morgan has opened up about adapting to life after the car crash she had aged 18.The star, who uses a wheelchair after being paralysed from the chest down, explained that felt it was important to go into detail about certain aspects of her life. “It was a conscious decision,” Sophie, now 37, tells OK!. “I deliberately went into detail about telling the truth about some very personal things about my disability.

We don’t often understand the complexities of disability.” One thing Sophie is keen to get across is the misconceptions about what it's like to deal with a disability.

You can sign up at the top of the page. “It’s a bit frustrating when people assume the worst thing that’s happened to you is you can’t walk.That’s the last thing that matters in many ways,” she tells us. “It’s so much of the other things – personal, sexual relationships, relationships with yourself and the wider world. "I wanted to drill into the nuances of that.That meant taking people step by step into what it’s like to wake up with a different body.” Waking up in a different body is indeed how Sophie now sees her life – that it has two chapters, the before and the after, non-disabled and disabled.

She explains, “Non-disabled and disabled are very different experiences. It does feel like two different lives. "The person I became after my injury is very different to the person I was.
