Irish golfer Shane Lowry has said his wife Wendy Honner and father Brendan faced ‘dog’s abuse’ as he competed in this week’s Ryder Cup.
The Offaly man detailed how a small number of drunken US fans harassed his wife and father as they walked around the Whistling Straits course proudly supporting him. ‘I didn’t think it was that bad until I asked my wife what it was like for her, and they got dog’s abuse coming around as well,’ Shane explained.
As reported by The Irish Times the proud Irishman continued: ‘It’s just not very nice is it, and it’s not nice for them to have to listen to this.
