evoke.ieAs they arrived at Whistling Straits in the US, to cheer on their husbands at the opening ceremony of the 2021 Ryder Cup, the golf WAGS of team Europe donned glamourous matching cream outfits styled by Irish designer Caroline Harrington.
Although the sight of the ladies kitted out in the same attire may baffle and confuse many, it turns out the matchy-matchy looks are actually a tradition that has been going on since approximately 1983.
Even today, the tournament requires that the ladies all sport the same look, something they happily agree to each year. Although some criticise the tradition as being outdated, others support it, believing it gives the wives the opportunity to be more involved in the competition and feel part of the team.
