Scots firefighters forced to use holiday time when shielding from virus win discrimination case

coronavirus. A shock employment tribunal case has found the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) handed 'unfavourable treatment' towards the life-saving heroes when they made the disabled firefighters take their shielding time out of their annual leave.

The Fire Brigades Union also argued that some female firefighters were being discriminated against in a similar way, having been forced to use annual leave and TOIL for additional caring responsibilities during the pandemic.
