Scots enjoy beer gardens and shopping as lockdown eases significantly from today

lockdown restrictions ease significantly for the first time in four months. A number of rules changes have come into force from today - including the reopening of non-essential retail and hospitality.

Gyms have also been welcoming back members while the Scottish border has been reopened for travel to other parts of the UK. Shoppers have flocked to high streets since early this morning to get their retail fix for the first time since lockdown restrictions were imposed on Boxing Day last year.

Hundreds of Scots were spotted queuing round the block to be the first in to Primark branches in Edinburgh and Glasgow - with some waiting three hours to get in.
