Sacha Baron Cohen's Secret 'Borat' Sequel Lands at Amazon

Borat 2, the stealth sequel to British comic Sacha Baron Cohen's hit 2006 mockumentary Borat, has landed at Amazon Studios. The original Borat movie, also known as Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, pulled in just over $262 million for 20th Century Fox.

The Borat sequel, shot and produced in secret in recent months and set to bow on Amazon Prime in late October, had been expected to launch on a streamer ahead of the U.S.

presidential election on Nov. 3. At one point, Universal provided assistance to Cohen because of its relationship to the filmmaker, but the movie belongs to him, according to sources.
