Sacha Baron Cohen tells a courtroom he has “never been on trial for my thoughts before” in the first teaser trailer for The Trial Of The Chicago 7.

Written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, the film follows the notorious trial that followed what was intended to be a peaceful protest at the 1968 Democratic National Convention, which turned into a violent clash with police and the National Guard.

The organisers of the protest — including Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, Tom Hayden and Bobby Seale — were charged with conspiracy to incite a riot.

Redmayne, who plays Hayden, can be seen shouting: “Get on the streets, get on the streets,” while Cohen plays Hoffman, who says: “It’s a revolution, we may have to hurt somebody’s feelings.” Aquaman actor Yahya

Here’s Hollywood development for you: writer/director Aaron Sorkin wrote the screenplay for “The Trial of the Chicago 7” back in 2007, Back then, Steven Spielberg had intended to direct the movie, and flirted with doing so for years, almost starting several times before becoming distracted with other projects (Paul Greengrass almost directed it as well). Cut to 13 years later and Sorkin, who in the ensuing years graduated from Oscar-winning screenwriter to director (his directorial debut was “Molly’s Game” in 2017 with Jessica Chastain), ends up directing the project himself.

Jackson, Uma Thurman, and Harvey Keitel reunited at the TCM Classic Film Festival to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Quentin Tarantino’s classic 1994 film “Pulp Fiction.” The filmmaker himself was sadly not in attendance, presumably busy with his reportedly endless writing on the now scrapped tenth and supposedly final film, “The Movie Critic.” TCM Host Ben Mankiewicz interviewed the cast in a fascinating and enlightening conversation about the interconnected, talky gangster movie set in Los Angeles.
