RTÉ’s new plan to ensure Fair City can keep filming in lockdown

Fair City was forced off air last April when the pandemic first hit causing an interruption in the popular soap’s broadcast.

However, new measures are being put in place to make sure that Fair City can stay in action for as long as possible. The BBC made headlines this week when it emerged it had sent a memo to staff informing they would be required to wear alarms.

RTÉ says it has no plans to follow the BBC’s lead by introducing COVID alarms for their staff to ensure nobody is getting closer than permitted, but it is taking a new and much-needed step towards keeping the show on air and filming in lockdown.
