Hearts boss Robbie Neilson admits he'd love to get star player John Souttar tied down to a new deal. The silky centre-back proved his worth to the Tynecastle side yet again this afternoon when he slammed his side into a first-half lead against Dundee with a stunning strike.

Having overcome his persistent achilles tendon injury problems, the 25-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and is free to talk to other clubs in January about signing a pre-contract elsewhere.

Neilson is determined to get the Scotland international to commit his future to the Jambos after they backed him during his many months of rehabilitation.
