Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.
He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.
Prince William appeared to be "sad and regretful" as he attended at the State Opening of Parliament yesterday, according to one body language expert.William was at the important state event alongside his father Prince Charles and his stepmother, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.It was revealed just the night before that William would be attending the ceremony after the Queen had to pull out on the advice of royal doctors due to her continued mobility problems.

Tugging at his waistcoat on arrival he then appeared to keep his hands clasped in the fig-leaf position in front of his torso for the entire event, only placing them on his lap once he sat down."He walked with his hands clasped like this, suggesting a lowering of his own status and presence.
