Record Store Day bosses have announced a new release schedule, after the planned 2020 event was axed due to the coronavirus pandemic.The annual event, which began in the U.K.
and celebrates independent music retailers around the world, was due to take place on April 18, with Manic Street Preachers, U2, Sam Smith, Keith Richards and the late David Bowie all releasing participating records.While organizers previously put the date on hold until June 20, it has now been announced that the previously-announced releases will be spread over three separate dates – Aug.
29, Sept. 26, and Oct. 24 – with releases for each date to be announced on June 1.Organizers said the rolling release dates was a means to start generating revenue for record stores,
