Prince Andrew stood “defiant” at Prince Philip’s memorial service on Tuesday despite appearing to be ignored by some members of his family, a body language expert has said.
The Duke of York attended the ceremony held at Westminster Abbey with the Queen, and the appearance marked his first official outing since it was announced he would be stepping back from public life amid his civil sexual assault.
Andrew was accused of sexual assault by Virginie Giufffre. He has vehemently denied the claims and earlier this year, settled the case out of court.
Andrew was given a prominent role during the Thanksgiving service by his mother the Queen, with whom he travelled to the event with from Windsor Castle, before escorting her inside and afterwards.
